Sarah is a skilled advocate, writer, editor and fundraiser with extensive experience of international development and global health. Focus areas include sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR); maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health; gender equality; HIV; human rights; empowering young people and mental health. Sarah is a member of the UK SRHR Network, Action for Global Health and the Gender and Development Network.
Before becoming an independent consultant, she held a number of advocacy and communications positions. As Senior Advocacy Manager at Marie Stopes International (MSI), Sarah was responsible for the strategic direction of the advocacy programme and fundraising. She set up MSI's Brussels office, oversaw its pioneering EU advocacy programme and managed the secretariat services to an all-party group of MEPs. She has experience of designing and facilitating workshops to strengthen civil society capacity in advocacy, resource mobilisation and engaging with the EU institutions.
Since becoming a consultant in 2004, Sarah has successfully carried out numerous assignments for a wide range of clients, many of whom regularly use her services. Clients encompass civil society and multilateral organisations, including:
